Gabriel Medina

Gabriel serves as Counsel and is a member of the Business Law and Startup Law practice groups. Gabriel’s practice is focused on general corporate matters for multinational companies with an emphasis on the Colombian financial sector. Over his twenty-year career, he has served as legal advisor for Helm Bank, Fiduciaria de Occidente, Citibank-Colombia, Fiduagraria, and many other trust and financial services companies. He is a Member of the CAC (Colegio de Abogados Comercialistas) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Colombo-Chilean. Gabriel is also a former member of the Legal Committee of ASOFIDUCIARIAS and FEDELEASING.

Gabriel previously served as professor at the Universidad Sergio Arboleda – School of Law and at the Universidad de la Sabana- School of International Business Administration. He is an author of several influential articles and publications including: “The Civil Trust as a tool for Estate Planning”, “IFC`S Syndication Loan Agreements”, and “True Sale and securitization of assets in Colombia”. Gabriel also serves as an official Arbitrator for varous Chambers of Commerce.

Gabriel received a J.D. as well as a graduate degree in Financial Law and Procedure Law from the Externado University of Colombia. He also received a Diploma in International Business Law – IBLP from the University of Nebraska and the Institute for American and International Law in Dallas Texas.
